I love the fall, and one of my favorite things about fall is PUMPKIN CARVING! I'm not great at it but I have fun doing it. Every year I like to at least carve one pumpkin to get into the Halloween spirit. The last couple years my friends and I have gotten together to carve. We are very fortunate because we get to carve at Mabey's house of "Mabey's Pumpkin Patch." It is so much fun to get together with friends for this. Sadly, Clint had to work for this carving night so he missed it. But I do have a picture of my pumpkin, that of which I am very proud of. This is the result of 2 1/2 hours of eye strain and hand cramps.
I know I haven't posted anything in months and I'm not going to pretend that I've forgotten or that I haven't had the time, because I have plenty of time and I've looked at my boring blog plenty of times. It comes down to the fact that mine and Clint's lives aren't all that interesting and I don't really have much to blog about. But here's a little catch up post to show some of the things we've been up to lately. I chopped off all my hair and donated it to Locks of Love Foundation. I figured I needed a haircut anyway so I thought the least I could to is give my hair to those who need it instead of letting it all get thrown away. All of Clint's hard work with our garden paid off. We had many carrots, beans, peas, and a few zucchinis and cucumbers. We've been going to the Bingham football games to watch Mike. He is doing really well as a receiver. It makes the games really fun to watch when you are actually there to do more than socialize (like we would do when we were in high school). I had my twenty first birthday and spent the day and the spa. THANKS CLINT:) Sarah and I went down to Orem to visit Abby and see her apartment. And I received my first Clarinet lesson from her. She is actually really good(she is taking clarinet at UVU for her music major) but I was awful it was so dang hard to get air through that thing. And when you did you were lucky if it didn't come out like a horn or a squeak...I was seriously light-headed after one minute of blowing. That's about all. Oh yeah one more thing. Clint's chickens started to lay eggs. He was pretty excited about that. Here was our first egg.
Today was our ward dinner up in the mountains, so clint and I and my whole family went up to enjoy dinner in the mountains and a hike to donut falls. I've always loved hiking donut falls for some reason. It's a quick easy hike up and there is actually something worth hiking up to. This time, however, we were unable to go all the way up to the donut. After we took the time to walk across the river once and freeze our feet off a girl told us that paramedics were on their way because a girl had fallen up there and broke her back... We just stood around for awhile wondering what to do when and then we saw two paramedics on their way up and they started up the rocky waterfall. They had huge bags on their backs and following them were a few more EMT's with what looked like a raft thing to put the girl in and it didn't look like an easy hike up to the actual donut (where the girl was). So we decided to hike back down before it got any darker and by the time we got down to the parking lot there were tons of sheriffs around and we heard them on there walkie talkies say that they still had not got the girl down from the falls. Scary! Amid all that clint and I managed to pose for a picture to remember our hike.
Sorry about the new blog. I had to change it because I started my other blog on my hotmail e-mail address. So to make it easier I changed it so I could have it all linked through my g-mail account. I thought it wouldn't be a huge deal because I had only blogged a few times and don't have many readers. I'll try to blog more consistently so my blog is interesting.
